Our Dogwood and Cherry Trees blossomed yesterday. Small wonder–they think it’s past time! It’s been seriously hot all week. Temperatures have been ranging between 84 F and 97.7 F across the state. Here it’s averaging 90 degrees. It’s been a period of weird weather changes–last Monday it was 38 F and overcast, then it rained for 4 days! I have all the windows open, the heat and dehumidifier off, and I’m staying in the shade.

Praise the Lord of all creation! Happy Earth Day! It’s Spring, and I’ve been sprung from my enforced hibernation in the rehab-center netherworld!
My new apartment is wonderful awesome! (That’s Pennsylvania-Dutch speak!) Curt & Vi have worked diligently to move all my furniture in, unpack the boxes, put things away and organize the chaos of my ’stuff.’ They also stop by a couple of times a day to check on me and fix things.
Things are beginning to shift in my world again. Hooray! Wednesday night, I went to Communion Service at CLA with Curt & Vi. We attracted some attention. At one point, Curt leaned over and said, “your secret life is over! You’re back in the fold again.” He’s right–this chaotic time has forever altered my notion of ‘normal life’. <sigh>

The field outside the rehab center, under the cedar trees,
is covered with a blanket of purple…
Amethyst trumpets poking through still brown crabgrass
raising royal plummage in praise of their Creator
announcing a renewed cycle of life
emerging from Winter’s death to begin again.
